Charlie Pollard Obituary

ASHEBORO — Charles Edward "Charlie" Pollard, 75, of 869 Cedar Creek Drive, died Friday, January 4, 2008, at his residence in Asheboro.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, January 7, at the Church Of The Good Shepherd Chapel, where he was a member, with Rev. Dr. Everett Thomas and Rev. Jack Ogburn officiating.

Mr. Pollard was a native of Petersburg, Va. He attended Randolph Macon College, was a U.S. Naval Academy graduate and served five years in the U.S. Navy. He received his MBA from Harvard Business School. Mr. Pollard had a 35-year career as a textile executive before retiring in Asheboro.

He is survived by his wife, Dillon Dawson Pollard; sons, Charles E. Pollard, III, of Manhattan, N.Y.; David Dawson Pollard and his wife, Anne of Charlotte, N.C.; Michael Brockett Pollard and his wife, Bonnie; grand- daughters, Kate McLean Pollard and Rebecca Dawson Pollard; and twin brother, William Duncan Pollard and his wife, Joan of Petersburg, Virginia.

The family will receive friends following the service, at the church.
