Franks, Joseph W. age 80, of Big Lake, died on Sunday, February 14, 2010. Joseph was born December 23, 1929, in Minneapolis, MN, to Joseph and Clara (Williamson) Franks. Joe graduated from St. Louis Park High School and the U.S. Naval Academy. He served as a pilot in the USAF. He was preceded in death by parents, Joseph and Clara Franks.
He is survived by wife, Pauline; children, Patti (Daniel) Trongard of St. Michael, MN, Terri (Rick) Gunderson of Spicer, MN, Michael Franks of Palm Desert, CA; stepson, David (Julie) Madison of Edina, MN; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; and sister, Patty Bartholome of Newbury Park, CA. A Memorial Service will be held Thursday, February 18, 2010, at 11:00 a.m. at Community United Methodist Church, 9225 Jason Ave NE, Monticello. Interment Ft. Snelling National Cemetery.
