George W. Dozier Jr., 82, passed away August 8, 2012. He was born in Norfolk, Virginia to the late George W. Dozier, Sr. and Agnes Wheeler Dozier.
Mr. Dozier graduated from Granby High School in 1948. He was a graduate of the United States Naval Academy, Class of 1954. He was a pilot in the U.S. Navy and retired from the Naval Aviation Depot, where he was an Aerospace Engineer. He was a member of All Saints Episcopal Church, where he sang in the choir for many years.
Survivors include his wife, Cathrine Meeks Dozier; his daughter, Alison McNabb, her husband Michael, and his grandchildren Bailey and Zachary, all of Chesapeake; his sister Elizabeth Meeks of Virginia Beach; his niece Tracy Franklin of Natick, MA; and his nephew Terry Meeks of Bristow, VA.
The family wishes to thank the nurses and staff of Virginia Beach General Hospital, Sentara Windermere Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, and Virginia Beach Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center for the loving care they provided.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday, August 19, 2012 at 2 p.m. at All Saints Episcopal Church, followed by a reception at the church. The Very Rev. Dr. Stanley W. Sawyer will officiate.
