Class Reunion Update

United States Naval Academy Class of 1954
17 July 2013

Dear Classmates,
We want to bring you up to date on the planning for our 60th reunion. The reunion committee met in February and have put together a tentative schedule of events, including a welcoming wine party on Friday evening November 14th, a Class meeting on Saturday morning , and a pregame tailgate starting at noon till game time at 3.30 PM. The Georgia Southern Game should be over by 6.30 PM ( Company & Battalion Organizers should plan their Saturday evening parties accordingly.) On Sunday  the Chapel has Catholic Mass at 0900 & Protestant  services at 1115 for those wishing to attend.  The Officer's Club has a Sunday morning Brunch, the cost/ person is $24 and any one wishing to attend should make their own arrangements. There will be a Memorial Service in the Chapel for all passed Classmates early Sunday at 1300. We are also planning a "Grand Ball Dinner"  for Sunday evening followed by a Farewell Brunch on Monday morning., both of which will be held at the Westin Hotel.

Westin Hotel on the circle at West St. and Taylor Ave.  will be our reunion headquarters. 100 rooms have been reserved for the class on a first come basis.

We have renegotiated the room rate and the costs of  the "events" package. The cost per room for reunion attendees is now $210 per night and includes free "self parking" at the hotel parking garage. The Westin Hotel will start taking reservations on 1 September 2013. When making reservations,  be sure to advise that they are for the "USNA Class of 1954 -60th Reunion.

The package of reunion events will be $300 per person and covers Friday's wine party, Saturday's tailgate party, Sunday's dinner, and Monday's farewell brunch. It DOES NOT include Company/ Battalion parties.

In order for the committee to get a better handle on how many Classmates will be attending, we would appreciate those who will be attending to send George Zeberlein an E MAIL at gvzeb1@verizon.net.  Please respond by 25 August 2013 if you plan to attend. This will help us make adjustments to our budget and preparations. Please continue to send your deposits ($100/Person) to:
The Naval Academy Alumni Association
54-60th Reunion
247 King George St.
Annapolis, Md. 21402

We remind All Company & Battalion Party coordinators that expenses for their event held after the Game on Saturday are NOT included in the reunion budget. If we can help you with your arrangements, please let us know.

Our best Regards to all and hope to see you in November 2014.
