 Observations from an Old Poolie
 September 14,, 2013. Navy 51 Delaware 7. On a beautiful (67 deg) before a record home opener crowd of over 36,000, Navy's football excelled in all facets: offense, defense, and special teams. QB Reynolds had a record day passing for 233 yards and 109 yards rushing.
 After Navy forced the Blue Hens to punt, it took 6 plays and 53 yards to score. Navy 7 Del. The defense stopped Delaware on 4th down, then drove to the 15 where Sloan kicked a 24 yd FG. Navy 10 Delaware 0 with 40 seconds left in the qtr. Navy got two ,more TDs in the second quarter – one on a 63 yard pass to Sanders. Delaware came back to score it's only TD. NAVY 23 Delaware 7 at the half. Nick Sloan missed his first PAT after 47 straight.
 Navy scored two more TDs in the third quarter. On the second possession they drove 92 yads to score. Navy 37 Delaware 7. FB Swain scored with over 13 minutes remaining. Navy 44 Delaware 7. With 13.44 to go Niumatalolo inserted the backs with QB Hendrick leading. He fumbled on his first play. The next possession nhe botched a pitch-out and the Blue Hens recovered. The next possession Henderson settled down and led Navy to TD . He scored on a one yard plunge. NAVY 51 DELAWARE 7.
 Delaware did move the ball at times but the defense got stops two interceptions.
 Navy had 352 yards on the ground and was 11-15 passing for 237 yards. QB Reynolds had a great day as did all the offense. Navy only punted once – first of the year.
 Navy has next week off then travels to Bowling Green, Ky. to play the Western Kentucky Hilltoppers in a 7 pm game. West Ky. Beat Kentucky 35-26, lost to Tennessee 20 – 52, lost to South Alabama
24-31. They play Morgan State next week.
