During the last week of June I made my annual bike ride with the Pennsylvania 2007 Sojourn group. A total of 500 individuals from 34 states participated in the ride. I took one of my grandsons (who had his 10th birthday during the ride) and he made it the entire 340 miles. We left Georgetown (Washington, DC) on a Saturday and rode the C & O Canal Trail up to Cumberland, Maryland, where we joined the Great Allegheny Passage Trail to finish the ride in Pittsburgh the following Saturday. The eight-day ride was great.
I would encourage all classmates to take a grandson on a similar expedition. A rewarding experience for both and what a memory for a youngster.
