Reunion 2011 San Diego

Reunion 2011 San Diego to be held from Thursday, July 14th to Sunday, July 17th 2011 is now in the initial planning stages. As our classmates age, there will be diminishing number of us able to get together; consequently, we want to make this a very special reunion in a wonderful location.

A reunion committee has been formed consisting of Larry Burkhardt, Dave Campbell, Gig Connaughton, Bud Foster, Phil Graessle, Ed Martin, Bill (Cutter) Robinson, Bob Rogers, and Poolie Watson.

San Diego in July is a perfect venue with sunny and cool weather and limitless attractions. We are investigating a premium hotel downtown on the bay. As a major cost-saver, no buses will be incorporated in the planning; all scheduled activities are envisioned to be held within walking (or short taxi/pedi-cab) distance of the hotel. A welcoming no-host cocktail party is planned for Thursday evening with a luncheon cruise on Friday. Friday evening is being reserved for company parties or individual free time. Saturday will feature a banquet to be held at one of the several locations being investigated; the USS MIDWAY Maritime Museum, the San Diego Aerospace Museum, or perhaps a dinner/dance harbor cruise. The MIDWAY is first choice knowing the superb job they would do. The attire for all events will be casual with the banquet being elegant casual. It was decided not to have an organized golf event. There are numerous world class golf courses in the area if individuals or groups desire to play. On Sunday morning, a memorial service will be held honoring classmates who have gone before us.

In order to negotiate hotel, banquet and other fixed costs, it is necessary to have the number of expected attendees. To assist in planning and securing commitments, please fill in the following form, clip and mail to Bob Rogers who has kindly agreed to be our treasurer for 54’s 57th Reunion 2011 San Diego. A $50.00 per person commitment deposit is required to provide necessary “seed” money. Reunion details to follow as the planning develops.
