ANNAPOLIS, Md.—The Navy football players, coaches and support staff contributed more than $1,700 to sponsor four local families for Christmas. Team captains Ross Pospisil and Osei Asante, along with junior punter Kyle Delahooke, spearheaded the drive. On Saturday, Dec. 5, the first off weekend for the Navy football team since August, a group of players went out to area stores and purchased clothes, toys and gift cards for the four families. This past Sunday, 12 players ventured out in the nearly two feet of snow that hit the Annapolis area to deliver the gifts. The players that delivered the gifts include junior outside linebacker Mike Sweeney, junior tackle Jeff Battipaglia, freshman tackle Steve Spada, freshman slot back Bo Snelson, sophomore kicker Jon Teague, senior linebacker and defensive co-captain Ross Pospisil, sophomore linebacker Andrew Sharp, junior tackle Matt Molloy, junior nose guard Chase Burge, junior punter Kyle Delahooke, freshman safety Tra’Ves Bush and sophomore linebacker Caleb King.
