'54's San Diego 2011 Reunion

Classmates:

54’s 57th Reunion 2011 San Diego to be held from Thursday, July 14th to Sunday, July 17th 2011 is now less than one year away with principal venue issues completed. Thus far, approximately eighty classmates, widows and family members have signed up.

We have contracted for100 hotel rooms at one of the premier hotels on the west coast, the Manchester Grand Hyatt located at One Market Place, San Diego, CA 92101
(manchestergrand.hyatt.com), telephone: (619)232-1234. An overview of this fantastic hotel may be found at http://manchestergrand.e-hyatt.com/ The hotel is located within a few blocks of all planned activities. The general manager is the father of a USNA ’95 graduate and is a strong supporter of the USNA. He is giving us incredibly good prices for San Diego this time of year. Prices are depicted in the following reservation link. For quick reference they are $199 per night for a single or double; triple is $224; quadruple is $249; or “Grand Club” is $274; all plus usual hotel taxes. Rooms may be reserved now at:

https://resweb.passkey.com/Resweb.do?mode=welcome_ei_new&eventID=2589321&utm_source=414&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=3268175

This is the easiest and preferred method to make reservations; however, reservations also may be made by phone (Toll free: 888-421-1442). Refer to reunion name: US NAVAL ACADEMY CLASS of 1954 REUNION. Reservations must be made by the “cut-off date” of 23 June 2011.

The rooms will be provided on a first come, first served basis and accommodations are offered at the same rates for three days prior to and three days following our reunion dates, subject to availability.

The central event of the reunion will be a cocktail dinner party on the flight deck of the USS MIDWAY Maritime Museum on Saturday evening, July 16th. Yes, the same carrier we cruised upon our second class summer and now the most visited maritime museum in the world. Attire for this will be elegant casual. For all other functions, the attire will be casual. The weather is generally clear, low 70’s daytime; mid 60’s in the evening.

Other planned activities will be promulgated in the months to come. By popular requests, ample time will be allocated for company get-togethers. San Diego has virtually unlimited attractions, some of which may be displayed or linked to: www.san-diego.us

Unfortunately we are losing classmates at an ever increasing rate and this may be one of the last few remaining opportunities for a large number of us to get together. We of the Reunion Committee urge everyone to contact their USNA roommates and friends in the class, promulgate this information and urge their attendance to 54’s 57th Reunion 2011 San Diego.
