A SIP OF AUTUMN VINTAGE - From Our Class Poet

A SIP OF AUTUMN VINTAGE

When November rolls around
And the 'chucks go underground,
To dream through winter and await the spring,
By the fire (if fire there be),
We too drift in reverie,
Warm thoughts of what the coming year may bring.

Old men don't have much to see,
Living on fond memory,
(But O! how sweet the taste is on the tongue!)
Let us savor it like wine,
You to yours and me to mine,
And some we share--forever strong and young!
