an Update to the Update

George asked that I add an update to the Email below that was sent by the NAAA. The Westin Hotel will not accept reservations for our 60th  reunion until September 2013.

Since I don't buy green bananas now, I won't be making reservations before September 2014.

Dear Classmates,
The time has come to look ahead to the Sixtieth Reunion for our class.  I want to bring you up to date on the planning Ted Walker and I have made so far for this class event.

Our Sixtieth Reunion is planned for Annapolis and is presently set for November 2014.  We are proposing that the reunion run from Thursday November 13-17, 2014.  There would be an opening reception and dinner on Friday, November 14th.  Saturday would be the Navy football game, which presently is with San Diego State.  There would be a tailgate in the 53’ Pavilion at the stadium before and after the game.  Company and Battalion gathering could take place at this time in lieu of attendance at the after game event.  Protestant and Catholic services could be attended at the Chapel Sunday morning.  A memorial service would be held on Sunday afternoon in the Chapel.  A farewell dinner would be held at our hotel on Sunday Evening and a departure brunch on Monday morning at the hotel.

We have made arrangements with the Westin hotel on the circle at West Street and Taylor Avenue.  There would be 120 rooms reserved for the class on a first come first serve basis.  There are two options available.  Those Taking rooms for Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights, the charge will be $270.00 per night.  If you extend your stay for Sunday night and attend the Sunday evening dinner the charge will be $250.00 per night.
We cannot publish a price for the reunion package at this time, but for those wishing to sign up early for the reunion you may make a refundable deposit of $100.00 for each person attending.
To register and pay with credit card, please visit the USNA alumni association website.  There will be a link to the reunion registration page on the Class of ’54 event tab.
If you would like to pay with check, please make the check payable to USNAA Class of 54 and mail to:

Ted Walker and I are the co-chairmen for the 60t.  We are working on a budget, a detailed schedule of events and looking for members of a reunion committee.  We would appreciate any volunteers!  We will continue to communicate with you and on the class website at http//54net.org as our plans are put into place.
Go ’54 & Beat Army, ‘EM ALL”!
