CHEERS FOR THE EARLY EQUINOX - Our Poet's March Poem

CHEERS FOR THE EARLY EQUINOX

An Astronomical Astonishment

The "Learned Astronomer" hath spoken—

Nineteen March shall be the day

When equal hours are awoken,

Blooms and buds burst out—hooray!

Earth's precession is the reason,

Planet wobbles on its poles,

Adds a day to summer's season,

Happiness to frozen souls.

Take advantage of the warming,

Walk around some nearby park,

Time for rising and reforming—

All too soon returns the dark.
